I am in love with Sign Language. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved this language. It has led me to my fascination and slight obsession with hands. I have an ever growing collection of hands. I was inspired by the website www.skulladay.com and decided I needed to start my own 365 day project. It took me awhile to get the nerve up to start but I thought the best day to begin would be on my 30th birthday so thanks for joining me on this long and wild journey.

Batik Hand
Today's project was so much fun to do. I have always wanted to make Batik fabric and this was the perfect opportunity. Batik is made by applying wax onto fabric to resist the dye, then dying the fabric. After the fabric is dry, you iron the fabric between paper towels to remove the wax and viola, you have Batik. It was really fun to do with a bit of trial and error. More dying projects to come...

I would love to have you show me how you did this. What are your ASL/interpreting plans?
