I am in love with Sign Language. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved this language. It has led me to my fascination and slight obsession with hands. I have an ever growing collection of hands. I was inspired by the website www.skulladay.com and decided I needed to start my own 365 day project. It took me awhile to get the nerve up to start but I thought the best day to begin would be on my 30th birthday so thanks for joining me on this long and wild journey.

Thread Hand
I have had some experience with free motion stitching/quilting on the sewing machine so this hand was just some more practice. It was fun to make; lots of circles, the easiest to sew. It was really hard on one aspect though. I had to secure the fabric in an embroidery hoop and since I didn't have a large enough one to fit the whole hand (which is a tracing of my hand), I had to move the hoop over and over again while still secure in the machine so I didn't have to cut the threads a million times.
