"Yay, You have a Whirly Bird Hand!"

My Grandma Bahl says she has a special memory about every grandchild and great grandchild. The memory she has of my sister, Melanie, has to do with whirly birds. My Grandparents moved back to Utah from Denver and when our family went over to help them move in, my sister saw the huge tree in their backyard and with great enthusiasm, she stated "Yay, you have a whirly bird tree!" That whirly bird tree caused a bunch of grief for my Grandpa. He, being extremely OCD, would count each and every whirly bird that fell from that tree, make a tally sheet and inform us all of how many whirly birds he picked up that year. Ah, thanks for the great genes, Pops!!

Interestingly, the memory my Grandma has about me has to do with her hands. Go figure! I used to sit on her lap and play with the veins that poked up on her hands. I just made that realization a few days ago that her memory is about hands. I guess my hand fetish started when I was just a wee thing. I find it really interesting. Like I say, I was born to sign!!!
